"Find and adopt a pet near you, using the official PetRescue app"
In December 2010, Brandon (our co-founder) wanted to save lives. He came up with an idea to create a national database of all homeless pets in animal shelters throughout Australia for free. He drew the layout of the app on paper but needed a developer to 'code' the app. Brandon advertised for a developer to work with him for free and within 5 months, he found 4 developers who individually said they will work on the project and all backed out before officially working on it.
On 17th July 2011, Brandon was contacted by Wei Zheng, who was the 5th person to offer to work on the animal shelter app. Together, Brandon and Wei found petrescue.com.au, a site that already had the database of rescue pets throughout Australia. Brandon immediately phoned, emailed and even sent a physical letter in the mail to the PetRescue organisation as he really wanted to work on this project. Eventually, PetRescue came on board and Wei and Brandon spent months working on the PetRescue app.
We would like to thank Wei Zheng for his time and hard work which has made this app possible. Additionally, we would like to thank the friendly PetRescue staff and the animal shelters in Australia that use PetRescue to find homes for their adoptable pets.
Crazy Dog Apps and Wei Zheng have spent countless hours working on the PetRescue app and we are proud of our work.
We developed this app for the PetRescue non-profit organisation entirely for free due to our love for animals. We want to make the world a better place and this is a small step towards that goal.
